For a very last minute need, I'm grateful this shop was open and had what I was looking for. I was able to pick up the gear earlier than the specified 2pm time, which was great. I had to watch a few Youtube videos to see how the camera worked since there wasn't someone at the store who could help answer my questions. The camera automatically exposes based on the internal light meter, but when I opened up the battery compartment, I found two corroded batteries. Thankfully, the shop had the specific batteries for this camera and were able to replace them free of charge. Best thing about this camera is that it has an internal 85 filter. Maybe other Super 8 cameras have this, but as it was my first time using one, I don't have a reference. I was barely able to make out what was sharp and what wasn't when looking through the viewfinder. The diopter adjustment doesn't help as it looks like there is a lens missing for the viewfinder. Overall, I'd rent from them again and when it's not so last minute, I would ask more followup questions about how the camera works and what quirks it might have that I should be aware of.
