Founded by cinematographer and filmmaker Roland Lazarte, our goal is to serve San Diego's community of artists, filmmakers, and content creators, by providing high quality, thoughtfully considered tools, to help them achieve their vision. We are very much a local rental resource, focused on our local community, meaning everything we have listed is carried in-house. We are very particular about the tools we use, so we acquire gear that is industry tested, production ready, and effective on set. We take great care to ensure the equipment is in top condition, from inspecting damages and potential issues to cleaning the cases after a job. We don't have everything, but we do try to have the staples that can help you achieve your creative vision. Please get in touch at least several days before your rental so we can make sure everything is ready for you! If you have particular use case concerns let us know so we can provide or suggest adequate support! And a kind request, please respect and take care of the gear! Obviously gear is meant to be used and designed for the rough environments of a film set, that said please be mindful of how they are transported and handled. We are a small business and can only price competitively if renters do their part to keep the gear in as good condition for the next production. Lastly, remember we are a small business and there is a real person (and pup) putting orders together and doing their best to provide personalized, direct service to you. Rollie # FAQ ## General ### Where is pick-up / returns? Pick-up and returns are in North County - Carmel Valley area. Pending the day, we may be able to accommodate Central - Point Loma Liberty Station. ### When can I pick-up / return? We follow ShareGrid's established pick-up and return times, which are consistent with most rental houses. Pick-ups after 2 PM and Returns before 12 PM. On occasion, we can accommodate earlier or later, but this must be communicated in advance. Please be considerate, communicate, and return on time! ### Can I pick-up a rental night prior to the rental start? Sorry, nope! You can only pick-up on your rental start day. ### I have a last minute rental! Can you help?! Sometimes! Generally we encourage productions and renters to place their orders in at least 24hrs in advance. While we can accept last minute rentals, we ask that you are mindful of your requests, including pick-up and return times. ### Do you offer delivery / pick-up? Yes! In general, "small order" delivery / pick-up is $60. "Small order" covers most items that can fit in a consumer pick-up / SUV. ### Can you provide a prep space? We don’t currently have a B&M location, but are happy to have some friends who do! If you will need a prep space for your rental, please get in touch in advance so we can coordinate with fellow rental buds. ### I have a vision but I don’t know what equipment I need. Can you help? Absolutely! We are here to offer suggestions on what equipment might best suit your project.  ### Do you provide sub-rentals? If you are a rental house interested in sub-renting an item from our inventory please reach out for more details and sub-rental pricing. We do not rent to rental houses via ShareGrid. ## Why is there a dog in your logo? Because dogs make us happy! And sometimes our dog does this funny pose so her leg looks like a Disneyland turkey leg. ## What battery systems do you offer? We carry Gold Mount and B Mount batteries / bricks, as we are big fans of their secure lock. ## Insurance / LND ### Do I really need insurance? Yes. Unless you are using ShareGrid’s Coverage options, you must provide a COI. There are no exceptions. We understand it may seem like an unnecessary expense, but insurance is there to protect both renter and rental house. Things break or get lost. Accidents happen. That's why proper coverage is important. ### Something got damaged or loss... IDK? Don’t be mad! It’s okay! Insurance exists for a reason! First, document it, with photos/video. Second, inform us as you can, that way we can make arrangements and see if we can fill in the gaps for the LND item. ## Discounts ### Do you offer discounts? Yes! We currently offer a 15% Student and Community Projects discount. Please reach out for more details. ### This item is cheaper over here, can you match it? Maybe? We believe we are priced competitively for our local market, in respect to the larger industry, and as a small business. Our prices factor both time and maintenance to ensure the equipment we loan out to you is in top shape and include all the essential bits and bobs that may be missing in other kits. ###Do you offer any grants?
